(1)I am a manufacturer. Can I register CCC myself?
The answer to the first question is yes. Any company can file registration by themselves. However, the process gets difficult after that. There is a need for a local person to manage the project, to stay in contact with those agencies to resolve issues, monitor progress and answer questions right away when it is posted. Any delay in responding to the inquires by those agencies will delay the entire process.
(2)I am designing a new product for the Chinese market. But this product is
still in development. Do I need to worry about China regulatory issues now?
The answer is to earlier you start including China in your thinking, the better prepared you will be when the product is released for market.
Believe or not, China is coming close to the international regulatory standards faster than any other developing countries. China has also adopted many international standards into its own industry standards. If you know that the products will be sold in China when it is released, it pays to start thinking about it early, so you do not have to waste the valuable time waiting for the registrations are completed.
We recommend clients to start considering Chinese regulatory issues while it is working on other certifications. Make sure that the manufacturer includes internationally accepted such as CB. Try to get international certifications that are recognized and accepted in the Chinese certification to shorten the process time. For example, CCC accepts CB testing results. Chinese CQC also offers a joint certification of CCC and CB. So companies can take advantage of that certification as well. |
